Financial Times: TIAA-Cref sells Sudan-linked oil holdings.  TIAA-Cref has become the first large US asset manager to sell stakes in four Asian oil groups over concerns about human rights abuses in Sudan, a move that will increase pressure on other investors to sever ties with those companies.  TIAA-Cref, which has more than $400bn under management, said on Monday that it had divested holdings in PetroChina, CNPC Hong Kong and Sinopec  - three state-controlled Chinese oil companies, and India's Oil and Natural Gas Corporation.

Sudan Tribune: Sudan's parliament speaker rules out review of Abyei referendum bill.  Ahmed Ibrahim Al-Tahir, Speaker of the National Assembly ruled out the need to review Abyei referendum bill saying the issue of voters who will participate in the referenda, would be decided by the commission.  The Messeriya MPs in the National Assembly walked out of parliament before the endorsement of Abyei referendum bill last Wednesday, arguing that the tribe was not mentioned by name in the law to vote in the Abyei referendum together with Dinka Ngok.

Sudan Tribune: Sudanese NCP official criticizes referendum law as 'recipe for war'.  he Sudanese presidential adviser Ghazi Salah Al-Deen Al-Attabani and the leader of the National Congress parliamentary bloc criticized a portion of the referendum law adopted in the national assembly last month saying it contains a 'recipe of war' in it.  The Sudanese official also disclosed for the first time that the NCP struck a deal with the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM) on the passage of the democratic transformation laws comprised of the National Security law, trade unions law, in return for the passage of the referendum laws for the South and Abyei and the Popular Consultation Law for the South Kordofan and the Blue Nile.
